Thank you for choosing to report anonymously.
We understand that this may be a difficult time for you, and we want to acknowledge the courage it takes to speak up. Even if you prefer not to share your identity, your report is still incredibly important and helps us with our ongoing efforts to ensure our university community feels safe, supported and respected.
Please note that anonymous reports may limit our ability to take action in individual cases.
This is because a student or member of staff who is the subject of an allegation (the Responding Student/staff) has the right to be informed and to respond. To ensure a fair process, anyone making a report must understand that their statement and any supporting evidence would be shared with the Responding Student/staff. Anonymous allegations/statements would normally need to be supported by other evidence and/or identified witnesses to be taken forward to an investigation. As a result, the University does not usually accept anonymous allegations or witness statements as a sole basis for an investigation where the witness wishes to remain unidentified.
Whistleblowers who disclose information which they reasonably believe is true and is made in the public interest may also make reports in their own name or on an anonymous basis. We encourage openness and will support those who raise genuine concerns. The whistleblowing policy can be found here: usw-whistleblowing-policy-and-procedure.pdf
However, your report still plays a vital role.
The information you provide helps us to monitor trends, identify patterns, and shape our response to issues such as sexual misconduct, harassment, bullying, and hate incidents. Anonymous reports often provide the only insight we have into certain behaviours, and they are essential to our efforts to prevent and address these forms of harm.
By sharing as much detail as you feel able to, you are helping us make a difference.
Your voice contributes to meaningful change, and we are truly grateful for your willingness to speak out.
What happens next?
Reporting anonymously may not lead to a formal investigation so if you, or others, wish to raise a formal concern or speak to someone, please choose to report with details.
What happens with my data?
Your data is important to us. We won't collect or store any information that goes against our privacy policy.
